International cricket is back with the Southampton Test after 117 days. The first two days of the test, which began with several rule changes, were marred by rain and lack of light. Out of the allotted 160 overs, only 6 overs have been played in two days.
Ben Stokes' side were bowled out for 204 by Shannon Gabriel after recovering from an injury with Jason Holder's career-best bowling. In reply, the Caribbeans scored 56 runs for the loss of 1 wicket at the end of the second day. England started the day with 35 runs for 1 wicket. Opener Rory Burns was unbeaten on 20 and Joe Denley on 14. Gabriel, who had taken the only wicket the day before, hit early in the second day. Yesterday (July 9) Denley was bowled by adding only 4 runs. Rory Burns, who completed 1,000 runs as the 28th English opener with the 21st run, could not go far.
